ESG Sustainable Development Strategy

  • In order to fulfill its commitment to the environment, society, and corporate governance for sustainable development, Sunlit has set up the “ESG Sustainable Development Committee” that is directly under the management of the Chairman of the Board who also serves as the Committee Chairperson. The General Manager serves as the Vice-Chairperson while the Vice President of Sales serves as the Chief Sustainability Office who will report regularly to the Chairman and General Manager every six months, accept the supervision and suggestions of the Chairman, and review the progress of relevant short, medium, and long-term goals. With Innovation, Responsibility and Commitment, Sunlit will continue to drive sustainable management under the core trust of our stakeholders.

  • Under the full support of the senior leaders of the ESG Sustainable Development Committee, the Sustainability Office has been set up to formulate and promote strategies oriented towards ESG issues such as climate change, energy resources, water resources and other sustainability issues that coincide with the corporate values of the company on a yearly basis, and with the full participation of the interdepartmental sustainability task force and employees. The combination of top-down and horizontal methods ensure the implementation and achievement of these goals.

9 Major Sustainable Development Goals

  • Under the leadership of the ESG Sustainable Development Committee and based on the company’s core values and concept of sustainability, Sunlit selected 9 Major SDGs out of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) set out by the United Nations. The ESG Sustainable Development Committee and the Sustainability Office will work to integrate cross-organizational resources and capabilities to implement corresponding sustainable actions that integrate SDGs into the organization’s culture and daily operations. Moreover, through the participation, cooperation, and dialogue exchange with internal and external stakeholders, they will further continue to develop opportunities in the three major dimensions of economy, environment, and society to create a sustainable future of value sharing.

  • Sustainable Commitment: The Issues of Climate Change  Sunlit joined the Taiwan Chemical Industry Association (TCIA) Non-Zero Emission Declaration in 2022 to fulfill its responsibility of protecting the earth. It vows to adhere to the content as set out in the “Paris Agreement” to implement the United Nations Climate Action, research and develop new low-carbon and negative-carbon technologies, and protect the ecological environment to achieve the goal of net zero emissions target in 2050. In the same year, Sunlit joined the Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP) and promised to achieve “corporate carbon reduction” and “disclosure of climate change information” related to the issue of climate change.
