The US chip act attracts $200 billion in investment, with Taiwanese companies contributing nearly 25%.

Foreign media reported that the Semiconductor Industry Association (Semiconductor Industry Association, SIA) said that although chip developers and manufacturers have not yet received funding subsidies from the US government's "Science and Chips Act", they have attracted a total of about 200 billion U.S. dollars in business investment so far. Entering the US semiconductor industry, among them, Taiwanese manufacturers including TSMC, Global Wafer, Li Changrong Chemical, Changchun Petrochemical, Sunlit Chemical and other manufacturers have invested a total of more than 50 billion US dollars, contributing nearly a quarter of the total investment. The new project will affect chip production and electronics manufacturing in the United States.

First introduced in the spring of 2020, the Science and Chips Act immediately attracted the attention of the semiconductor industry. TSMC announced in mid-May 2020 that it will be one of the companies investing in a large new fab project in Arizona. Since then, a total of more than 40 new semiconductor investments have been made across the United States, and these fabs and other production facilities have created approximately 40,000 direct high-wage jobs.
