Following the launch of two production lines for high-purity hydrofluoric acid in the second half of 2018, Sunlit has now reached the full production capacity with qualification certified by our customers from home and abroad.

In response to the large demand for high-purity hydrofluoric acid from major semiconductor factories in Asia and North America running 7nm or more advanced processes after 2020, as well as the requirements for increasingly high-end product quality, Sunlit will add the third production line in the Guanyin Plant in Taoyuan, Taiwan, which is expected to start operation in Q4 2020.

The third production line will produce up to 15,000 tons of high-purity semiconductor-grade hydrofluoric acid. By then, the total production capacity of ultra-high purity semiconductor-grade hydrofluoric acid (metal ion impurities less than 3ppt) will reach 45,000 tons per year, which can meet the needs for advanced semiconductor process in Asia and North America.

Founded in 1972, Sunlit Fluo & Chemical was the first manufacturer of hydrofluoric acid and fluoride in Taiwan. And to meet various demands from different industries, Sunlit has produced various grades of hydrofluoric acid for customers spanning from semiconductor, TFT-LCD, solar cell, to steel manufacturing.

Since 2000, Sunlit has continued to invest in the two core concepts of the industry for self-reliant R&D of semiconductor-grade hydrofluoric acid technology, and has now become one of the very few manufacturers in the world, except for a few Japanese counterparts, that have 100% self-reliant technology to produce ultra-high purity hydrofluoric acid. And by 2020, together with the third product put into production, the total production capacity will rank the second largest in the world.
